Calm down to turn inward

Our modern way of living is to a great extent governed by yang, the masculine energy. This is an energy we all have. It is the part of us that is logical, our intellect, our doing, and our power of action. For many of us, this energy or aspect can be dominant, and the part of us that is yin does not get quite as much space or great expression.

The society in which many of us live often encourages us in various ways to be in our yang power, which can be amazing in its own way. Still, the need and desire to get in touch with one’s yin energy and feminine power is becoming more common. The energy of yin is our creativity, our emotions, our being, the joy, and also our recovery.

It is important for your health and well-being that you create gaps in your calendar, give yourself breaks and rest for recovery on a regular basis. It is in these breaks and during sleep that optimal cleansing of the body through your inner organs can take place, processing of thoughts and emotions, rebuilding of tissues, cell renewal, and new thought pathways are created and emotional healing takes shape. In other words, body, emotions, mind, and soul are all strengthened through relaxation.

By relaxing, you balance the nervous system which is the best way to recover

When life is challenging and pushes us more and more, it's easy to forget to use the tools you have. No matter how much knowledge and wisdom you have, if you don't use the methods you've learned, there's still a risk that yang will take over because the society we live in has a dominance of yang - doing, demanding, achieving, and hurrying.

Allowing yin and yang to coexist, allowing both to express themselves, and creating a balance between the two can lead us to regain homeostasis - our original state.
